What you will do:

The Senior Procurement Specialist will primarily support the design, development, and execution of procurement processes, strategic sourcing strategies and best practices, and creating standard operating procedures and policies for procurement activities.

  • Execute on quotations and requests for sourcing information, placing purchase orders, and managing key suppliers in support of relevant Key Performance Indicators and continuous improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies, best practices, and initiatives that support improvements in supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, delivery, lead times, risk compliance, ESG and other areas as identified
  • Routinely follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of purchase orders and consistently communicate status of purchase orders to internal stakeholders
  • Investigate operational needs and opportunities to create and present solutions in strategic purchasing, gain visibility, and mitigate procurement risks
  • Perform supplier development and improvement projects, and proactively participates in problem resolution (NCRs, SCARs, delivery issues, etc.) and supplier risk analysis
  • Conduct risk assessments for critical suppliers, materials, and components to ensure continuity of supply and product quality
  • Perform strategic sourcing activities in procurement consisting of soliciting bids, analyzing supplier responses, and driving the selection of suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Develop and create internal procurement SOPs and policies that ensure compliance with financial, legal, and ethical requirements
  • Report on Procurement activities on a regular basis to Supply Chain Management and the Leadership teams, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Encourage a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

What we need you to bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study in engineering or quality management; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in Procurement or Sourcing in an engineered-design, low-volume, discrete manufacturing setting
  • Interest and understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
  • The ability to quickly build and leverage relationships, work collaboratively to ensure team performance, and successfully influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • The ability to manage and adapt to multiple and/or changing projects simultaneously and possess the ability to thrive in a continuous improvement environment
  • The ability to exercise good judgment, resilience, tact, and diplomacy
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as needed
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

What we want you to bring to the team:

  • Procurement experience for electrolyzer, fuel cell, or flow/solid state battery specialty technologies and/or start-up technology
  • Leadership or mentorship of a small team
  • Quality System Standards experience or exposure (9001, 13485, IATF16949, AS9100, 21 CFR 820, 14 CFR – any subsection)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation:

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
