Job title: Tech Lead

Reports to: Product Engineering Director

Department/Group: Product/Engineering/Data

Position Type: Full Time

Location: Remote

Travel Required: Yes, ability to travel as required by role (up to 10%)

Primary Purpose & Function

Responsible for leading a talented team of developers in building and maintaining our industry-leading SaaS platform while ensuring the technical vision aligns with the overall business goals and fostering a collaborative and innovative development environment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and direction for the development team, including mentorship and coaching.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of new features and functionalities within the SaaS platform.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps).
• Work closely with product management and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with the infrastructure team to ensure optimal performance and scalability of the platform on Microsoft Azure.
• Conduct code reviews, identify and address technical risks, and maintain an elevated level of code quality.
• Stay up to date on the latest technologies within the Microsoft stack (Azure, .NET, etc.) and identify opportunities for innovation.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Education Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in software development with a proven track record of leading and mentoring teams.
• Strong experience with the Microsoft development stack (e.g., .NET, C#, ASP.NET).
• In-depth understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with Microsoft Azure (preferred).
• Experience building and maintaining SaaS applications.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and development best practices.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for technology/agriculture and a strong understanding of the AgTech landscape.

Travel

Ability to travel for short periods of time as required by role, under all weather conditions.
