AppHarvest is building some of America's largest greenhouses, combining conventional agriculture techniques with today’s technology to grow non-GMO, chemical-free produce. Our first greenhouse in Morehead, Kentucky, will span 60 acres. The facility will use 90% less water than traditional open-field agriculture. A technological marvel, our closed-loop water system utilizes a 10-acre rainwater retention pond and creates zero agricultural runoff. And we're doing it all while creating nearly 300 jobs and helping Appalachia build a more resilient economy. Our central location here is within a day’s drive of 70% of the U.S. population, also allowing us to reduce the amount of fuel consumed in transportation by 80%.
