As we get closer to cutting the ribbon on a first-in-kind cultivated meat plant and prepare for commercialization, we are seeking a Recruiting & HR Senior Assocaite to join our dynamic team in Wilson, NC.
Summary of role and team:
As a Recruiting and HR Senior Associate, you will support recruiting efforts as we scale up factory operations. You will lead onboarding for all new hires and have the opportunity to shape and lead a best-in class orientation program. In addition, you will help optimize HR processes, and support various human resources functions, including benefits, payroll, compliance, and training. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with non-exempt employees, and will play a key role in ensuring our team has the resources and support needed for success.
The Recruiting and HR Senior Associate is a full-time employee eligible for PTO, holidays, healthcare and retirement benefits. This role works primarily on-site in Wilson, North Carolina with some work from home days each week (hybrid).
Your day-to-day
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for non-exempt and exempt roles, particularly in manufacturing and operations.
- Source, screen, and interview candidates to meet the company’s staffing needs.
- Collaborate with department heads to define hiring needs and create job descriptions.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with external recruitment agencies as needed.
Onboarding and Orientation:
- Develop and implement onboarding processes that provide a seamless experience for new hires in a variety of roles.
- Conduct orientation sessions to introduce new employees to company culture, policies, and processes.
- Collaborate across departments (IT, Safety, Procurement) to ensure new hires are fully equipped to begin work.
- Ensure all required documentation and pre-employment screening is completed and maintained in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
HR Process Development:
- Create and standardize HR processes, including hiring workflows, employee documentation, and performance management.
- Implement tracking systems for HR data such as recruitment metrics, and employee attendance.
- Partner with leadership to continuously improve HR policies and practices to support company growth.
HR Support:
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure payroll accuracy for non-exempt employees.
- Manage employee benefits administration, including enrollment, claims, and questions.
- Support day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations, compliance, and record-keeping.
Reporting and Metrics:
- Generate regular reports on HR activities, such as recruitment progress, employee turnover, and workforce demographics.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data trends to improve HR processes and workforce engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a Recruiting or HR role, preferably in a manufacturing environment with non-exempt employees.
- Strong understanding of and demonstrated experience with full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Familiarity with HR software and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, startup environment.
- Authorized to work in the US and the ability to pass pre-employment background screenings.
The Ideal candidate
- Experience in the food or general manufacturing or biotech companies.
- Experience with HR functions such as payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee relations.
- Knowledge of HR laws and regulations, particularly around non-exempt employees and wage/hour compliance.
- Proven track record of creating and improving HR processes in a growing organization.
