About The Role
The Sr. Tax Accountant will support the accounting function for multiple international entities and serve as a liaison for external tax and audit firms. You’ll support the growth and expansion of the business and transfer accounting operations into the entities as their business matures.
This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 25 hours a week with flexibility to manage increased levels of activity periodically. This role can be based in Dublin, Ireland or Chicago, IL.
Key Responsibilities:
You have a genuine interest and proven track record in accounting, process design, and tax. You have experience supporting multiple finance functions of a small business or within a public accounting firm and creating the right-sized processes for the needs of the business.

About The Role
The Sr. Tax Accountant will support the accounting function for multiple international entities and serve as a liaison for external tax and audit firms. You’ll support the growth and expansion of the business and transfer accounting operations into the entities as their business matures.
This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 25 hours a week with flexibility to manage increased levels of activity periodically. This role can be based in Dublin, Ireland or Chicago, IL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a combination of outsourced and internal accounting and reporting for BEC and its subsidiaries, JV entities, acquisition and divestment transactions.
- Maintain relationships with local accounting firms for outsourced entities, including training on accounting processes, weekly status meetings, and review/approve work
- Periodically review business needs are re-evaluate external scope requirements
- Manage and support the implementation of the procure to pay cycle
- Coordinate with FP&A on cash requirements for global business entities
- Manage relevant aspects of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for Bluestar and its subsidiaries
- Conduct thorough transfer pricing analyses to support intercompany transactions
- Act as a primary liaison with external auditors
- Develop and compile supporting work papers, reconciliations, and other schedules for all relevant accounts and/or account groups
- Manage relationships with external tax preparers for foreign filings and registrations
- Oversee preparation and filing of Federal and State Corporate/Partnership income tax returns, VAT returns
- Lead preparation of required tax documentation across BEC and its subsidiaries (e.g. 1099)
- Manage relationships and collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure efficient and accurate tax planning and compliance
- Work with the finance and legal teams to ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations
- Participate in due diligence for potential transactions and advise on tax implications
You have a genuine interest and proven track record in accounting, process design, and tax. You have experience supporting multiple finance functions of a small business or within a public accounting firm and creating the right-sized processes for the needs of the business.
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or similar), or CPA preferred
- 5-10+ years of experience with increasing responsibilities, including tax and audit/accounting support
- Experience working in public accounting, preferred
- Excellent technical/analytical and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work on own initiative taking work to completion with minimal support.
- Working knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP preferred
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
