Job Brief
As the Senior Technical Recruiter specializing in hard science and engineering roles, you will be responsible for attracting, sourcing, and hiring top-tier talent to support our research and development efforts. You will work closely with hiring managers and department heads to understand staffing needs, develop recruitment strategies, and build a robust pipeline of candidates. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for connecting talented professionals with exciting career opportunities.
This is a hybrid role out of the Oakland lab.

Key Focus Areas of the role may include:

  • Coordinate the full cycle end-to-end recruiting from sourcing to post-offer acceptance
  • Partner and collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing requirements and urgency of hiring needs to develop comprehensive job descriptions
  • Understand the Brimstone process and make compelling pitches to excite candidates about Brimstone’s product and mission
  • Utilize various sourcing techniques, including online job boards, social media, networking events, and referrals, to identify and attract qualified candidates
  • Evaluate candidates' technical competencies, qualifications, experience, and cultural addition through thorough interviews and assessments
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring teams, ensuring a smooth and efficient recruitment process
  • Collect and analyze feedback from interviewers to make informed hiring decisions
  • Build and maintain relationships with candidates, keeping them engaged and informed throughout the recruitment process
  • Represent the company at industry events, career fairs, and networking functions to expand talent pipelines and promote employer brand awareness
  • Partner with members of the People Operations team and hiring managers to develop innovative recruitment strategies and best practices
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to hiring managers and team members on interviewing techniques, candidate evaluation, and selection processes
  • Track key recruitment metrics, such as time-to-fill, candidate quality, and source effectiveness, to measure the success of recruitment efforts
  • Generate regular reports and analytics to identify trends, optimize recruitment strategies, and make data-driven decisions

For this role, we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in a hard science, including but not limited to chemistry or engineering
  • 5-plus years of experience as a technical recruiter, within the field of climate technology or manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of scientific and technical concepts, with the ability to assess candidates' qualifications and skills effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with candidates and hiring teams
  • Knowledge of ATS system (Ashby preferable) and other recruitment tools
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, work on multiple projects at once, take initiative, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations related to recruitment and selection processes
