  • Assemble and test Electra’s novel electrochemical cells.
  • Perform electroanalytical measurements to help develop a fundamental understanding of Electra’s electrochemical processes.
  • Work closely with more senior R&D team members on electrochemical cell design (membrane, catalyst geometry, etc.) and design of experiments.
  • Communicate research findings in an end-of-term presentation to the technical team.

Qualifications:

  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field with a research focus on electrochemistry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic wet chemistry laboratory safety knowledge
  • Experience with aqueous electrochemical systems
  • Familiarity with electroanalytical measurements such as cyclic voltammetry, coulometry, chronoamperometry, chronopotentiometry, rotating disk electrodes, microelectrodes, etc.
  • Experience building electrochemical cells

What is in it for you:

  • Hands-on experience in an industry environment
  • Opportunity to work on novel industrial decarbonization technologies
  • Opportunity to collaborate with other cross-functional teams (mechanical engineering, process engineering, etc.)

Compensation:

  • The pay rate for this position is $28.00 per hour for undergraduate students and $31.00 per hour for graduate students.
