What you will do:

As the Manager of the Analytical Chemistry team, you will have a unique opportunity to grow a new team focusing on the analysis of metals in process solids and solutions to support our R&D and engineering efforts.

In this role you will:

  • Lead growth and capacity expansion of the team; propose and execute new projects
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and supervision to a team of analytical chemists and technicians
  • Lead development and validation of new analytical methods to meet company needs
  • Act as a subject matter expert for a variety of chemical analysis techniques
  • Work internally with other stakeholders to communicate and deliver reliable results
  • Develop and execute documentation, quality, and maintenance systems to ensure confidence in our analyses

What we need you to bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry or related field; MS/PhD preferred
  • At least 7+ years of experience in analytical chemistry
  • 2+ years of lab supervision and direct management
  • Specific experience with ICP-OES method development, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of XRF and experience with XFR sample preparation and analysis
  • Knowledge of a broad range of analytical approaches and the ability to provide technical guidance for new analytical needs
  • Demonstrated ability to independently plan and execute projects
  • Ability to clearly convey technical information to expert and general audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and determine next steps
  • A safety-first mindset; identify potential risks and prevent hazardous situations

What we want you to bring to the team:

  • Experience applying analytical chemistry techniques to geochemical samples (e.g. in mining, metallurgy, or related fields)
  • A creative approach to employing analytical techniques to new research questions
  • Experience with laboratory certification standards

Compensation:

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education
