Reports to: Vice President of Sales
Position Type: Full Time
Location: Remote | Johnston, IA office as needed
Travel Required: Yes; ability to travel as required by role (up to 30% of the time)
Primary Purpose & Function
Responsible for the growth and implementation of the Growers Edge warranty-backed Crop Plan and Input Lending products with regional Ag Retail and Manufacturing partners while providing ongoing support and training to customers. Account Managers will also support the Vice President of Sales, Chief Commercial Officer and Business Development Director, helping to successfully implement warranty and input lending products with national Ag Retail and manufacturing partners.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Achieve key financial objectives (i.e. revenue, gross profit, renewals, etc.) and non-financial objectives such as customer loyalty related to warranty and input lending sales.
- Build, maintain, and communicate a pipeline of opportunities for new prospects and existing customers.
- Forecast financial requirements; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Build relationships with Ag retail executive leadership, Ag retail agronomy teams, Ag retail credit & finance teams, and other influencers. Acts as main point of contact to Ag Retail partners of assigned accounts.
- Analyze market opportunities and develop plans to service and retain existing customers, increase market penetration and premium growth, and improve the quality of the book of business.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- College degree or equivalent preferred plus minimum of 2 years of related work experience; prior sales experience preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Records.
- Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey ideas, trends, technical details, and sales techniques both in person and virtually.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with management and cross-functional teams, including both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to develop trusted advisor relationships with Ag retail partners; must be credible in front of Ag retail audience.
- Polished presentation skills to effectively convey ideas, trends, technical details, and sales techniques both in person and virtually.
- Competent in Microsoft Office products, and efficient in email and internet applications.
- Effectively manage and maintain peer and business relationships with a high degree of integrity and trust.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on business needs.
Travel
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time as required by role, under all weather conditions.
Physical Demands
- Spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle and eye strain.
