Our turnkey solutions allow us to engage in seamless partnerships that help brands with scalability and sustainable growth. Lief Labs is located in the Santa Clarita Valley (Valencia, CA.) All roles are on-site Monday – Friday. (2nd shift 1:00 - 9:30pm). Training will be on 1st shift for 3 weeks. (5:00am-1:30pm)

Summary

The Packaging Line Operator operates packaging line equipment in a safe manner and according to standard operating procedures. Make minor adjustments to equipment when necessary. Stop, start equipment and clear jams when necessary. Ensure product produced meets quality standards. Confirm correct packaging components and quantities are used. Report any discrepancies and issues to lead or supervisor. Maintain proper documentation (GDP) on all batch records and any other documents as required.

Responsibilities

  • Focus will be to ensure all packaging equipment is running efficiently and in a safe manner to produce quality product.
  • Follow all safety policies including LOTO (lock out tag out).
  • Maintain and follow manufacturing batch records, logs and other documentation by following GDP.
  • Able to work effectively and cross functionally with other packaging line operators assigned to line and able to follow direction for the packaging line lead.
  • Able to meet daily production and change over goals.
  • Trouble shoots and adjusts packaging equipment when issues arise.
  • Works with and trains new packaging line operators.
  • Able to make suggestions to improve packaging line processes.
  • Able to successfully start-up, operate packaging line equipment efficiently and tear down for major cleaning according to batch record and specifications, on WI and SOP.
  • Able to clean packaging line equipment per SOP and Wis.
  • Report any safety, quality and equipment issues to lead or supervisor.
  • Keep area and equipment clean and in compliance with cGMPs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

High School diploma/GED or equivalency of related work experience

Experience:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a production environment, preferable 1 year experience in a lead role.
  • Understanding of cGMPs (Good Manufacturing Practice) and related SOPs.
  • Experience and proficiency in operating packaging line machines and equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand English examples, procedures, good manufacturing practices “GMP”, packaging standards, batch records and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems “Redzone preferred”.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Skills/ Abilities Problem Solving

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a safe manner.
  • Ability to complete job requirements at completion of onboarding period.
  • Proper use of scales, calculator, and other physical testing equipment.
  • Possesses strong attention to detail and GDP.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions..

Work Environment

The work area must be clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate. Field conditions vary.

Exposed to various raw materials, including allergens (i.e., milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nut, peanuts, wheat, soy).

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, sit, talk, move about, hear and speak. May be required to work in restricted spaces and/or under difficult lighting and access conditions.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-50 pounds and be able to use appropriate support equipment to lift and move greater amounts. Must be able to stand for approximately 8-10 hours.

Must be able to work independently, in a team environment, and drive projects to solution.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee is required to use properly use such safety equipment as is appropriate to the work to prevent injury to self or others.

Additional Information
The Salary Range for this position at Lief Labs is $16.90-$20.00 / hours (USD). Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to market demands, experience, training, skills, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, wellness benefits, education reimbursement program, and PTO. This position is bonus eligible.
