The Loader is responsible for loading and unloading the company’s trucks and third-party trucks. Backing up trucks to
the dock doors. The Loader will report to the Transportation Supervisor. The incumbent must have the initiative to
execute all projects assigned by the direct supervisor or other management. The Loader will have the opportunity to
demonstrate leadership abilities and teamwork.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Loads and unloads shipments as required; constant lifting of boxes weighing up to 60 pounds each
· Loads trucks according to truck mapping and special instructions
· Loads product in a manner to avoid damages and maintain load stability to ensure driver safety
· Wraps pallets by machine or hand to insure stability
· Unloads and cleans out trucks as necessary
· Operates forklifts and mechanical jacks throughout the facility constantly in a safe manner
· Prepares products for shipment under general supervision by weighing, handling and transporting as necessary
· Hand loads product onto trucks as required. Pushing and pulling of pallets with pallet jack
· Marks, addresses, loads, and packs product for proper delivery and condition
· Picks up, loads and unloads damaged goods and customer returns, and completes necessary paperwork
· Unloads product from trailer, by hand or using hand cart, and places in designated customer storage areas
· Complies with all safety regulations and standards
· May include transporting product down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions
· Maintains and safely operates all assigned equipment, including but not limited to forklift, hand cart, pallets,
load bars, and personal protective equipment
· Maintains sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer, assists with maintaining sanitary conditions in the
warehouse and yard and proper handling of product.
· Works flexible shifts and weekends when required
· Attends all required company meetings
· Other duties may be assigned
· Willingness to operate box truck on/off lot when necessary (additional requirements included/training provided)
· Other duties under the scope of position may be assigned by management team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: No specific educational requirements; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: 6 months loading & unloading trucks and willingness to be forklift and pallet jack certified.
Language Fluency: English fluency to read bill of lading and shipping receivable information
Technology: No specific technological requirements; basic computer and keyboarding skills preferred.
Licensure: No specific licensure required.
Credentials: No specific professional credentials required.
REQUIRED PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Manual Dexterity: Ability to quickly move your hands and arms sufficiently to grasp, hold, finely manipulate and
assemble herbs and packaging.
Muscle Strength & Flexibility: Ability to bend, reach, stoop, squat, pivot, turn, balance, walk, pus, pull, and lift and carry
up to 40lbs. Ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support a standing position for sustained periods
over time without giving out.
Withstand Cold: Ability to perform duties, responsibilities, and assigned tasks with maximum efficiency while working in
a sustained cold work environment.
Sustained Fast Pace: Ability to work at a very fast sustained pace without reduction in quality, food safety and
workplace safety compliance.
Not Allergic: Ability to breathe, touch and work around fresh herbs and leafy produce safely
