We are looking for an experienced Design Lead (Physical Product / Industrial Design) to lead the designers of all product teams within our Device Experience Group - the group in charge of our physical tado° products. You’ll be part of a cross functional leadership trio responsible for defining the product vision and guiding teams in discovery and delivery.

Group Design Lead role at tado°

As a Group Design Lead you'll ensure our device suite excites our users, meets their needs and interfaces seamlessly with our digital touchpoints. This is a full time, permanent position. Your responsibilities will include:

• With your counterparts within the group's leadership team, the Product Management Lead and the Engineering Lead, you'll work on the vision and strategic direction of the groups products and align on it with the product teams and the upper management.
• You'll be responsible for the design vision of our tado° device suite including physical appearance as well as the on-device UX/UI.
• You'll lead & develop the group's designers, and ensure good alignment both between them and with other group's designer to ensure a holistic product experience for our users.
• You'll guide the group in user centric product discovery and concept validation, ensuring we deliver the most valuable solutions to our users and great outcomes for our business

• You are a seasoned expert in user centric development of consumer hardware and have in depth experience designing products which are both valuable and appealing to customers as well as successful in the market.
• You have 5 or more years of experience in creating industrial design, interaction design and digital UX/UI of physical products and bringing them to the market. Minimum one year leading other designers (both disciplinarily and professionally).
• In your previous roles you have proven your analytical approach in making evidence based design decisions. You value frequent user feedback and fast experimentation over creating extensive concepts.
• You are conscientious, used to taking initiative over receiving directions, and can manage your time and focus.
• You have excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

• You have worked in a product company developing consumer electronics or IoT products in the HVAC or energy space.
