Job Summary:
As we continue scaling rapidly, we are actively exploring strategic acquisitions to drive growth, enhance our product offerings, and expand into new markets. We’re seeking a driven and analytical M&A Analyst / Associate to join our team to help identify, evaluate, and execute potential acquisition opportunities.
In this role, and M&A Analyst / Associate, will play a key part in supporting the company’s growth strategy through mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investments. You will be responsible for analyzing potential targets, conducting financial due diligence, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the CEO and other senior leadership and gain hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a significant impact in a high-growth startup environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Market Research & Sourcing
- Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Conduct market research to assess industry trends, competitive landscapes, and potential synergies.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential M&A targets.
- Opportunities to collaborate with leading climate tech and energy transition investors to identify accretive opportunities for Urbint.
- Financial Analysis & Valuation
- Analyze financial statements, build valuation models (DCF, precedent transactions, and comparable company analysis), and assess the financial health of potential targets.
- Responsible for diligence of sell side models and construction of merger models for contemplated transactions.
- Prepare detailed business cases, including ROI analysis and synergy assessments.
- Due Diligence
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, product, and operations) to support due diligence efforts.
- Identify potential risks and integration challenges, providing actionable recommendations.
- Deal Execution
- Assist in drafting LOIs, term sheets, and other transaction documents.
- Coordinate with legal and financial advisors during the negotiation and closing process.
- Integration Support
- Work with internal teams to ensure smooth post-acquisition integration of acquired companies.
- Track performance against projected synergies and provide post-close analysis.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field with a distinctive academic track record
- 1-3 years of experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development or consulting
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly to senior leadership.
- Experience in the enterprise software sector or with startups is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization software; familiarity with CRM and deal management tools is a bonus.
